Review of Sure Fire Groove’s “EP #1″:
“Vocals entwine and harmonize beautifully, and the musicianship is subtle though never underplayed. All three tracks are excellent. Opener “Got to Get to Heaven” is a muscular blues-rocker, which recognizes that its power lies in its restraint rather than slash and burn theatrics. Middle cut “Sit” arrives on acoustic guitars, superb vocals and undeniable pop hooks – it’d sound wonderful on the radio. Concluding with “Call the Captain”, its folk-rock vibe and upbeat acoustics are a joy to hear, and it might just be the best thing on the record – by a cat’s whisker.”

About the band
Hot on the heels of their critically-acclaimed sophomore release, Last Good Standing, Chicago-based Sure Fire Groove is poised to scratch out a niche for itself in the Windy City’s burgeoning music scene. Backing up their rich three-part vocal harmonies with complex arrangements and adroit musicianship, this blue-collar folk-rock quartet has been compared to the Doobie Brothers and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young by Richard Milne of 93XRT.
Behind increasing radio play on regional and college radio stations, Sure Fire Groove is amassing a fervent fan base in Chicago and throughout the Midwest as a hard-hitting, powerful live act with deep roots steeped in The Band, Little Feat, and The Grateful Dead. Their music is also available on YouTube, Spotify, iTunes, and Pandora, among other leading services.
